Buying a watch can be a serious and expensive business, and in some cases seriously expensive but it doesnt have to be ! It's easy to forget that watches can be fun and affordable, with that in mind I thought it would be refreshing to kickoff 2024 with a watch that ticks both of those boxes and I guess theres no better place to start than Timex. Frank Dubarry Deep Ocean Xmas Giveaway
Переглядів 4816 місяців тому
The Deep Ocean is an overly priced 300m dive watch from Frank Dubarry that somewhat fails on its promise of high end avant-garde design, although it makes use of some clever tech its not a diver that I would choose to keep in my collection which is why I am giving it away. If you would like to take part in the Xmas Giveaway to win the Deep Ocean, then simply like this video, subscribe to the ch...

Shocking Seiko - The Disappointing Prospex Glacier
Переглядів 3,9 тис.9 місяців тому
You might consider me a bit of a Seiko fanboy, I have more watches in my collection from the Japanese brand than from any other watchmaker but it's a love affair that has been tested to the extreme by the poor quality control and performance issues of the Prospex Glacier ‘Save the Ocean’ SPB301J1. The jury is still out on my Prospex Glacier, I'll give you an update in a future full review, in t...

Looks absolutely ridiculous. Like a toy watch
Thanks for the review. I find their eye for detail quite exceptional. I should also note that their website, product photos and openness about information is on a level higher than any other watch brand that I can come up with. That bodes well for their future. The only reason I haven't bought a watch from them is their brand name. Maybe it's just me, but it feels fake to consider wearing a watch brand named "About vintage". It signals to me that they're just a brand copying older designs with no personal character. That cheapens everything else they do as well, even though I think they have great talent for design.
I can't believe people will wait for a Rolex. Their watches are trite and they treat their customers like crap! Oh,,...and they lie!
Since this video is 4 years old, is the Batman still the best version of this?
NTTD = No time to die (007) nato strap
Bought my first G Shock today, ahould arive tomorrow. the 5610u-1E. Looking forward to the next few decades where i only have to wear one watch.
Remember that all the kids with their smartwatches are doomed when the apocalyp days are coming. Our watch will still work just fine and all the smartphone people will ask us; Sir, can you please tell the time? 😅
Beautiful watch.
Those days when we were teenage, we would wear our casio even while taking bath and never took them off from pur wrist. 😅😊😂❤
I dunno why many people dislike it's strap. I love them as I've been wearing them for 30 over years. I really ❤ them. I am not liking the metal strap watches. 😅
I think I might get an all metal at some point
Saw this a few months late! In August 2020 I phoned the AD and asked to be put on the list for a 39mm Explorer. I had no past history and did not visit the store. 7 days later I got a call saying a watch was available (I can only imagine other people on the list turned it down) After I got the Explorer I asked to be put on the list for a no date Sub and got the call in February 2021 to come and collect it. So with no previous relationship or purchases I got the 39mm Explorer and a 124060 No Date Submariner within 6 months I then put my name down for a 126710BLNR GMT Master II (Batgirl) Three years on I am still waiting for the call on that one but have popped in to the AD a few times to,let them know I am still interested.
Link to order?
Just google the Timex website and hope they have them in stock
So wish we could get these in Australia, absolutely gorgeous. Nice job showing it off :)
Will they not ship
@@LastWatch yes this will be the last resort, just can’t beat handling in person first 🙂 But your review helped with that.
Is this the closest model available to the first G-Shock DW 5000C?
They look similar enough
I’m not interested in playing their dog and pony begging game. I put my name on the list and when and if they call they do, and if they don’t they don’t.
I'm with you
Excellent overview of the features. Was choosing between AW-168 and a square G-shock, now I know the answer
This color is just perfect , for the price nice watch
I like it but if my phone got stolen.. what do i do keep time with the guy who stoled.. with the bluettoh.. i need something independent watch and phone i keep my 5610.
Seems fair
disgusting it left there in worsse condition in come in what is going on at Tudor are they blind
i’ve owned a number of gshocks and other mechanical timepieces throughout the years but never the square… that was until a few weeks ago when i bought the updated module of this model… i never knew i missed so much… thanks Casio!
I got both Explorer 40 and Sub (non date). I honestly say I love them both dearly. I got the call 3 weeks ago, and I went in to pick it up just like that (after 3 years of waiting).
I should be so lucky
Swiss "Based" This brand is Chinese owned/made.Do your research.
I did
So you know the new Nivada Grenchen is Chinese owned and Chinese made!
@lastW??
You said you did do your research! what was your conclusion?
@@LastWatch You've answered by not answering! Everyone, please notice this and don't Think Nivada Grenchen is Swiss made and Swiss owned!
Had they given it a sapphire crystal, a slimmer shape, and a potent lume, I very much doubt it’d sell for $119
Maybe 120
Screw tudor... and why I'm at it screw rolex. Blancpain fifty fantoms or nothing
beautiful
I want to get one but I'm poor and can't have one but I can still have a plastic watch 😢
There are too many people using watches as an investment tool, they start throwing their toys out the pram if they lose money.
Maybe
197 was discontinued in Aug 2023. Making both highly sought after now.
I'll check that out, thanks
The display is way too busy. The design of the g5600 or gw5000 is so much cleaner.
what a simple yet beautiful dial! I really like the look of this watch. That shade of copper gold goes well against the black dial. Not a stunner in the specs, but who cares!? Looks great!
I was choosing between this and the airking. I pulled the trigger on airking but still waiting for the call.
Brave man
Forgive my ignorance. How does one know what the retail prices are without being at the shop and subject oneself to all the stress and maybe embarrassment if at all ?! 😂
Check out the Rolex website
Oh! Thank you so much !!
You're not kidding about the bracelet length! I usually have to remove 2-3 links but not with the Explorer. I originally wanted a 36 because of it being the classic size but I could only just get the 36 over my hand with a bit of a squeeze let alone do it up. I was further disappointed to find it looked ridiculous on my flat 8" wrist so turned to the 40. This looked the perfect size on the wrist thankfully but I could only get it done up with the Easylink extended. AD didn't bat an eyelid though and said it was no problem to add an extra link. Now I just need the one with my name on it to come in!
I'm guessing they have a bunch of extra links in a drawer somewhere
@@LastWatch Like to hope so, don't want to then join the wait list for a link :) Don't know if you've seen it mentioned elsewhere but the half links for the current Sub also fit but Rolex themselves deny it.
You can set the date display to M.DD and DD.M.
only on m5610u version
Not on this module but it has been updated since
This is my main watch unless I need to look fancy. The type of watch that will take you well into a zombie apocalypse.
This model, with the totally black bezel is out of stock and has been like that for a year now. But the Batman is in stock and it is 88 EUR right now. Ant there are 4 more variants of this watch and almost everyday one of them is on sale. The lowest I've seen them is 84 EUR. You can't find a better watch for the money. The cheapest equivalent Seiko or Citizen is at least 300 EUR. Even the OG Seiko 5 (with the 7S26C) costs 110 EUR. The cheapest Lorus with the same Y676 movement costs more than 120 EUR. The only cheaper mass produced automatic watches are the Q&Q Grandeux or the Q&Q Superior, which have old Miyota movements.
would be perfect if had POSITIVE display. Positive: perfect design, every function is useful, also alarms with snoozer, the Bluetooth also useful and the strap is THE BEST strap ever in any g=shock. The bad: the negative display. Thank you for your review!
Amazing video
Glad you think so!
“Only Gshock” DOES NOT COMPUTE
Great review and presentation style.
in your time setting you can both set your lume to 3 seconds and set your date function to month/day
Different module
Does it give you notifications?
I have one sonce one year. Really great watch and size proportions. What annome a lot is the ceramic bezel. It looks too shiny, too modern and ruins the watch for me
It keeps it fresh but does take away from that vintage vibe
@@LastWatch decided to sell mine
I got the same model. Its beautiful. I got my accuracy +6 per day on the first weeks. After a year i got +2/-2 per day, i love it. The problem i got is the misaligned bezel. Not a big problem to me but its a shame for an expensive watch.
Yeah I purchased one brand new a couple of weeks ago and it’s running at around +5 daily,it’s a stunning watch,I’m really enjoying wearing it daily.
@@ezeztztz +5 is a jackpot accuracy in a 6r movement imo lol. Some has +10/-10. Its so sad that having a nice 6r movement is a luck based purchase
Butterfly clasp & 100 WR., this watch woud be perfect...
Lets hope they improve it
Hi, I had similar problems but I sent it back to Seiko under warrantee. It now performs excellently well within spec so that I didn’t check it for a few weeks and it was within seconds of Exact Time on the internet. Amazing after a bad start.
I think you'll find that you can set the backlight to be on for longer.
Definitely this one seiko model , absolutely stunning. Swimming, walking, working,chillin..... everything, everywhere
There seems to be an SRPE51K1 and 55K1. Is there any difference?
Great seller here in the states.
